Jerry Mahabub

Jerry Mahabub,
Founder & CEO

Mr. Mahabub founded GenAudio in 2003 and is the inventor of the core technology, AstoundSound® with over 20 years of continuous R&D as of present. His activities include strategic planning of the business and technical direction, intellectual property, capital formation, business development, and license negotiations. Mr. Mahabub is owner of Astound Studios, a studio facility designed specifically to support the AstoundSound technology.

Prior to founding GenAudio, he was owner and Executive Manager of Rapid Prototype Technologies, LLC from 1998 to 2003, where he designed and developed new and innovative technologies for a large variety of government contracts and mainstream commercial markets. His responsibilities there included design engineering, business development, technology commercialization, and licensing. In addition, Mr. Mahabub was often asked to assess technologies for investment firms and assist with IP based independent valuation analysis. Mr. Mahabub has negotiated many world-wide licensing deals, channel partnerships and strategic alliances with multiple divisions of Hewlett Packard and many other companies in an effort to create marketable, state of the art, disruptive and cost-effective products, and has also consulted for both hardware and software engineering projects. Prior to his position at Rapid Prototype Technologies, Mr. Mahabub was Director of Engineering at Ines Inc./SPYR Technologies Inc. from 1995 to 1998, where he established that company as a GSA/8A provider for government contracts. The work involved research and analysis of market trends for commercialization efforts, competition and market analysis, product marketing strategy, print and digital advertisements, ISO 9001 compliance, and negotiation of several government contracts in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations and Government Procurement Policies for numerous branches of the armed forces. A cursory list of entities for which he has designed, developed and/or transferred, including through licensing, technologies are SAIC, Miltope, Hewlett Packard, Intel, Motorola, Siemens, Philips, Boeing, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the US Naval Warfare Center, Quantico, the US Army Missile Research and Development Engineering Center (MRDEC), TMDE, and many others.

Mr. Mahabub started attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY doing coursework and lab work from the age of 13 and entering as a full time student at the age of 16. In 1988, at 16, he was hired to work part-time at a Superconducting Research Laboratory while attending RPI full-time and also worked, from the age of 13, in Dr. Charles P. Bean and Ivar Gaiver's lab, a Nobel Prize winner. He was the youngest to be accepted into the special school for entrepreneurship at RPI. He double-majored in Physics and Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering - ECSE with a Minor in Philosophy and Symbolic Logic.

Brent Kaviar

Brent Kaviar,
COO & SVP Theatrical Business Development

Brent D. Kaviar came to California to start west coast operations, marketing, and business development for Darlab's, Inc., maker of Mod-Tap networking products. After a few years in the early days of computer networking, he segued to the entertainment business, first working in commercial editing for Stuart Waks and Co. and then in post production on a number of independent films directed by Dutch filmmaker Ate De Jung . Brent joined the mini-major, New Line Cinema, starting in inventory management then rising in the ranks over 18 years to Senior Vice President of Post Production. Brent oversaw digital cinema, 3D, archiving , post production marketing and the 35mm and digital releases of all New Line's films.

Brent also had a key role in the theatrical release of all New Line, Fine Line and Picture House films from Robert Altman's The Player to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings (winner of 11 Academy Awards). Other films in which Brent had a key role include: The Rush Hour series, Austin Powers series, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Shortcuts. Brent Kaviar was the New Line Post Production executive on Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, the world's first live action 3D film. Brent's work in 3D continued after New Line Cinema, and included the 3D release of Jim Cameron's Avatar for Fox Studios. Brent has been consulting and working as the Post Production Executive for GenAudio Inc. since 2009.

Brent graduated from Binghamton University with a BA. He is a contributing member of two committees awarded Science and Technical Achievement Awards from the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences for Trailer Audio Standards Association (TASA) and The Cyan Tracks Committee.

Greg Morgenstein

Greg Morgenstein,
SVP Audio Engineering

Greg Morgenstein is a multi-talented engineer, producer, composer, sound designer and editor. He's built an all star client roster by being reliable, innovative and always ready to jump into any audio project thrown his way. Determined not to silo himself, Mr. Morgenstein has worked with hip hop's best and brightest stars such as Ludacris and Missy Elliot, teamed up with pop star greats Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson and partnered with several legends along the way like Guns & Roses and Aretha Franklin. Outside of the music realm, Mr. Morgenstein was the sound designer for four of the DVD re-mastered James Bond films. Additionally, Mr. Morgenstein composed music for "Moulin Rouge" and "The Break Up."

Most recently, Mr. Morgenstein has become a full time employee of the GenAudio management team, works with our dev team to assist with developing new software, and he has both processed (using our software), mixed, and managed over the professional audio engineering services when necessary relating to any post production project that comes in our door. Mr. Morgenstein has also brought many projects to the table and his solid track record and extensive entertainment industry contacts continues to bring us new projects in the door ranging from new film titles for theatrical release, new album projects from multi-platinum artists in multiple genres, among many others. Mr. Morgenstein received his Bachelor of Science in Music from Berklee College of Music in 1997.

Mr. Morgenstein is not just a great professional audio/mix engineer. He is devoted to making this company and our technology become the next "Gold Standard" of the audio industry across all verticals of entertainment.

Michel Henein

Michel Henein,
Gaming Products Manager

Michel Henein is a game audio technology guru with over 15 years of experience in both film and game audio engineering. Mr. Henein started working for the film music powerhouse, Media Ventures, as a film music editor in 1997. With an "ear" for the future, in 2002 he sought to enter into the new frontier of interactive audio: video games. Mr. Henein shipped three AAA titles from THQ as a sound designer and sound supervisor where he led efforts to build a world-class sound studio at THQ's Digital Studios Phoenix (formerly Rainbow Studios.)

In 2006, Mr. Henein co-founded Diesel Games, an indy game development studio that entered into a partnership with GenAudio to build a video game demo showcasing GenAudio's unique 3D spatial audio processing technology, AstoundSound®. Mr. Henein has also provided consultation services and was an instructor at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences where he co-developed a forward thinking curriculum specifically designed to teach interactive audio development for video games.

Mr. Henein provided expert consultation and has written several feature articles on the subject of game audio technology for Mix Magazine, the leading publication worldwide for professional audio production.

Fueled with a strong belief in the power of AstoundSound to completely revolutionize the audio experience for gamers, Mr. Henein brings his vast network of gaming contacts to GenAudio with the goal of cementing GenAudio as the leading 3D audio solution for gaming. Mr. Henein recently led the company's efforts to form key strategic partnerships with game industry leaders.

Mr. Henein graduated from Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts in 1997 with a specialized degree in Recording Arts.

Jim Devine

Jim Devine,
SVP Finance

James Devine joins GenAudio from Quinella Corp., a Certified Public Accounting firm whose practice includes tax, accounting and consulting services to both public and private companies in a wide range of industries. Devine also provided credit, due diligence and subject analysis services for finance clients at US Escrow & Financial Services; in addition to consulting services for structured deals where he served as principal.

Mr. Devine received a Bachelor degree from Concordia College, Morehead, MN and is a Certified Public Accountant, Minnesota.

Jim Mattos

Jim Mattos,
Secretary & SVP Corporate Communications

Jim Mattos has over 25 years experience in political science research, international public relations and corporate communications. He is responsible for corporate communications, investor relations, records managment, B2C technical support and trade show coordination. Mr. Mattos brings to GenAudio a strong track record in delivering consistent and high quality customer, investor and corporate support services.

Mr. Mattos graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Government from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In addition, he attended the London School of Economics and Political Science.

  • The next dimension in virtual surround sound: AstoundSurround. AstoundSurround allows the professional audio engineer the ability to integrate GenAudio's unique 3D audio technology within a multi-channel mix. Multi-channel audio can be down-mixed to 2-channel, while preserving the each channel's spatial location. This makes headphone listening a true surround sound experience. Rear or side channels can be down-mixed and output to more than two channels. This enables 7.1 content to be output to a 5.1 system, while perfectly preserving rear channel spatial location. The same is true of 5.1 content output to a 2-channel or 3-channel system.
